Frequently
Asked Questions
How are
my calls billed?
The charges for calls to our access numbers will simply
appear on your normal phone bill from your telephone
provider. You are not charged separately by us.
Where a
country has a different rate for daytime, evening
and weekend, does it apply to the UK time or the time
in the country called?
The rates apply to the UK time.
When do
evening rates apply?
Evening rates depend on which provider you use to
pay your phone bill. For most providers this is Mon-Fri:
6pm to 8am, but BT's evening rate is Mon-Fri: 6pm
to 6am.
Why won't
my call connect when I use your service?
In most cases this is down to two reasons. 1) The
phone you are dialling 'to' might be a mobile without
you realising. In many cases calls to a mobile use
a higher rate access number. Check the listing to
see if this is applicable. 2) Our rates fluctuate
from time to time, and sometimes we have to route
calls through a higher rate access number making the
number that you might currently have unapplicable.
Please recheck our listings to see if this is the
reason.

Do I need
to pay a subscription or other fees when using Simply
Ring?
There are no subscription costs for using Simply Ring.
The price per minute stated against each Simply Ring
access number is the cost per minute as advertised
both on our website and in our marketing literature.
How much
can I save by using Simply Ring instead of BT?
You can save up to 90%. To compare prices visit their
charges page by clicking here.
How do I
sign up for your service?
You don't need to register to use the Simply Ring
service. You just dial the access number that allows
you to phone the international destination you want.
Can I use
Simply Ring from payphones?
The access numbers of Simply Ring are accessible from
any UK phone, including payphones.
Are there
peak and off-peak rates?
No. Access numbers are charged at the same rate 24
hours a day...7 days a week.
Do calls
made from mobiles or other landline networks attract
a surcharge?
If you are ringing from a mobile or a non BT landline
then you could be surcharged by your provider. This
depends on your provider and which tariff plan you
have. We advise you to get in touch with your provider
to double check if they surcharge on calls to our
access numbers, or alternatively, if you have the
ability to check your bill online, try a short 1-2
minute call and then check what you have been charged
(please make adjustments for any connection charges
your provider may add).
Can I use
these access numbers outside the UK?
Our access numbers will only work in the United Kingdom.
So if you live abroad or if you are on holiday outside
the UK you cannot make use of our services.
When do
call charges take effect?
When you dial a Simply Ring access number you will
be charged from the moment you are connected to our
service. If you find that you cannot get through to
the person you are calling, please contact
us immediately.
How do I
use your access numbers if I dial from a mobile?
In much the same way as from a landline, except that
after entering the number of the person you are calling,
do not press the (usually) "green"
receiver button, as this can disconnect you from our
service and cause you to dial abroad directly through
your provider. |
